South Putnam Animal Hospital

Health & Travel Certificates

At South Putnam Animal Hospital, our doctors are accredited to comprehensively examine your pet to make sure they are healthy enough for travel. Before traveling with your pet, we must confirm that he or she is disease-free, parasite-free, up-to-date on vaccines, and healthy enough to travel.

Traveling With Your Pet

Traveling with pets requires careful planning. Much like you need a passport, pets need to acquire a Certification of Veterinary Inspection prior to traveling. Make sure to also check the USDA website for specific pet travel regulations that depend on your destination of travel.

To avoid travel delays and inconveniences, please call us at 845-628-1834 and schedule an appointment as soon as possible.

No matter if you're traveling within the United States or internationally, most airlines and destinations require proof of a health certificate at least 10 days prior to departure. If possible, it's preferable to bring your pet in the passenger cabin with you where they will be safest and most comfortable.

We are also accredited to complete domestic health certificates.
