National Veterinary Technician Week

A Licensed Veterinary Technician(LVT) is an individual who has graduated from an American Veterinary Medical Association accredited college and received a license by the state to practice as a veterinary technician. Their training in treating animals combines the skills similar to those of a physician's assistant, nurse, and medical lab technician in the human health care field.
An LVT's primary responsibilites include nursing care, administering medication, assisting in surgery, taking radiographs, inducing and monitoring anesthesia, performing dental procedures, laboratory testing and client education.
