Our History
Celebrating 25 Years of Service to our Community
We are pleased to announce an important milestone for South Putnam Animal Hospital - January 4, 2009 was our silver anniversary! We have provided animal health care services to our community for the past 25 years.
With the vision set forth by two young doctors, Kathi Heiber, DVM and Cindy Kosacz, VMD the first patient was seen on January 4, 1984 with a support staff of 3 in a 1350 sq foot hospital. Twenty-five years later, we have grown into a 5 doctor practice with a support staff of 19 in a 3350 sq. foot hospital. Along the way, we were nationally recognized by Veterinary Economics magazine and Pfizer Animal Health, Inc. as a "Practice of Excellence". This award was presented to us to honor our high standards of Veterinary care and hospital management.
Our hospital mission has always been to provide the best possible care to animals while educating our clients as to the proper care of their pets, and to treat our clients as they wish to be treated. Focusing on that mission has allowed us to continue to grow not only in size but in knowledge. We have met the challenge of keeping up on the ever changing options that now exist for your pet’s health care, yet our recommendations are based on each pet’s individual lifestyle.
Our staff consists of compassionate professionals who truly care for both your pet’s health as well as your needs as a pet owner.
